Following an extensive selection and judging process, KPMG was designated as the company in Romania that is most committed to providing well-being for its employees and the community in which it operates.

KPMG received the first place and the title of “Top WellBeing Employer of The Year” at the gala organized by Bodyshape Romania, the initiator of the “Top WellBeing Employer of The Year” competition.

According to the expert jury’s analysis, the winning company demonstrated a strong commitment to the well-being of its employees and created working environments that encourage and support the health, happiness, and personal development of the team.

During the award ceremony, the second place and the title of “Visionary WellBeing Employer of the Year” was obtained by Arctic SA, while the third place and the title of “Innovative WellBeing Employer of the Year” was occupied by mindit.io.

Furthermore, companies that were finalists and made efforts to improve the well-being of their employees at the workplace also received the “Employee Wellbeing Recognition Award”: BCR, Majorel, Provident Romania, and Philip Morris.

“A successful business is built on successful people. And when the team enjoys physical, mental, and emotional comfort, it automatically reflects in performance. We initiated this competition knowing, from the eight years of activity of our fitness center, Bodyshape Transformation Center, how important the balance of body-mind-soul is for a quality life. And this balance must be achieved during working hours, which occupy most of our daily lives.

In 2019, Bodyshape became the official fitness provider for Groupe Renault, so we understood even better the challenges that employees of companies face and how to motivate them to stay active. Starting from this case study, we wanted to bring to the spotlight those companies that invest in the well-being of their employees. We created the Top Wellbeing Employer of the Year competition, aware that they can contribute to improving health levels through physical activity for hundreds of thousands of employees throughout the country. I thank all the companies that had the courage to participate in this competition and share their good practices,” said Irina Alionte, founder of Bodyshape Transformation Center, the initiator of the Top Wellbeing Employer of the Year.

How the competition unfolded:

Companies applied to participate in the competition in the spring of this year, and the applications were analyzed by a jury composed of fields complementary to the business environment and the promotion of a healthy lifestyle: Irina Alionte – founder of Bodyshape Transformation Centre, Andreea Marin – media personality, promoter of a healthy life, Marius Ghenea – serial entrepreneur & Business-Angel, Larisa Iordache – Olympic, world, and European gymnastics champion, Costin Tudor – CEO and founder of Undelucram.ro, Andrea Pintican – founder of the HR School, and Dr. Cezar Amititeloaie – cardiologist and entrepreneur.

The expert jury assessed the following criteria:

  • The company’s vision regarding employee well-being
  • Strategy for employee well-being
  • Well-being programs implemented in the last 12 months
  • Positive impact on the organization, including monitoring and measurement methods
  • Innovation brought to the implemented well-being programs

The Grand Prize, presented by Elisabeta Lipă

The Grand Prize, Top WellBeing Employer of the Year, was presented by Elisabeta Lipă, President of the National Agency for Sports.

“Listening to all of you who have come up here on stage, I have drawn some conclusions – If you want to be healthy, you are obliged to move. Movement doesn’t mean performance. Don’t imagine that I recommend you to participate in six editions of the Olympic Games. I recommend you to move because movement gives you a sense of well-being, and sports help you stay healthy. Sports mean socializing, teamwork, and when all these ingredients are mixed, you will see how happy employees you will have,” said Elisabeta Lipă.

The Top WellBeing Employer of the Year 2023 Gala was presented by Andreea Marin. Known for her constant promotion of a healthy lifestyle, Andreea Marin emphasized the importance of this project: “The gala highlights those companies that properly promote, support, and encourage the well-being of their employees, their physical and mental health, understanding the direct connection to people’s effectiveness at work. It’s a win-win approach in a world where the need for a proper balance between private and professional life, between creativity and well-being, long-term productivity of companies, and employee fulfillment is increasingly felt.”

The Top WellBeing Employer of the Year competition will continue next year with a new edition.
